I heard that this was possible in Uganda, to go on trekking zones without a guided tour or anything around gorillas, chimps, and so on. Someone had mentioned you need a permit for this but it is possible. Where does one obtain such a permit?
There was an option for this but I believe they stopped it due to issues with tourists as well as locals, it was deemed too unsafe for both the people and the wildlife. So you no longer can access such a thing.
Bummer! I was hoping to be a part of this.
I guess they need to consider the animals and the safety of the people walking through. I would imagine they had one too many incidents where someone got hurt and just couldn't risk it anymore.
