I met someone on another forum (unrelated to travel) that told me he once stayed there for almost 3 years when he was dating his girlfriend who he met online. I thought he was joking or lying about it because I have never heard of a country allowing you to stay without some sort of visa program for more than 3 months.
I don't know all the ins and outs of things but on a standard visa, you can only stay a max of 30 days. If you want to extend your stay to 59 days, you can do this at an immigration office and keep doing this until you hit 3 years, which is likely what your forum friend did.
