I know back in the day it was considered one of the safer places to visit, especially when going solo. I have seen it in plenty of movies and telly shows. I am just not sure if that is the case today. I keep hearing about immigration problems and rat problems. I am just not sure what to believe. Some say it is no longer a safe place to visit for people who travel alone.
For the most part, it is one of the best places for women to travel to alone. I don't think you have anything to worry about. It is said to be an introvert's paradise as people mostly just leave you alone. So long as you stick to the busy areas and are aware of your surroundings, you will be fine. You mostly have to worry about being scammed out of a few extra quid by locals looking to prey on tourists.
