I know for most people, it is not a big deal. It is just an island with a lot of stray cats that happen to be fed, cared for, and friendly. I am a cat love and have always wanted to go. I have seen videos of other peoples' experiences on YouTube but I never knew the process of visiting the island. Where do you go in Japan to travel here? Is it free or does it cost something? Can you donate food? Are there hotels on the island?
There are actually several "cat islands" in Japan with the most popular being Aoshima.
A round-trip will cost you roughly 1,360 JPY which is roughly around 8 quid. You only pay the cost of travel. It is free to roam the island.

I thought it was just one island, there are more!? Oh boy, my bucket list just expanded. haha
I will have to check out Aoshima first then. That is honestly not bad. Do they have shops and such on the island so I can eat there?
