Anytime I have seen Amsterdam in films or on shows, it has been depicted as the party capital fo the world. This has put me off from wanting to go. I am very much against drug use. I saw an article a few days ago talking about a growing drug problem they have... Just how bad is it?
Drug-related violence increases year after year in the Netherlands. Whilst they are painted as a marijuana smoker's haven, they are most known for their use and production of XTC. Harder drug use has brought in crime and other issues. It is fairly bad. You can still visit, there are cleaner areas but you will be hard-pressed to avoid drug users, they are everywhere in Amsterdam.
